BIO

Ricardo Parra is a renowned Chilean singer-songwriter, guitarist, and music producer whose music has resonated on stages across North and South America. His artistic style is a distinctive fusion of genres that range from trova, folk, jazz, bossa nova, pop-rock, and vaudeville. With a solid international career established in Chile, Mexico, and the United States, Ricardo Parra is valued for his thoughtful lyrics, full of positive and hopeful messages, and for his ability to create intimate and memorable atmospheres in his performances.

Ricardo Parra has demonstrated remarkable mastery in creating a cohesive sound from disparate elements. In particular, he has introduced, among other stylistic incursions, harmonic innovations by reinterpreting and adapting Italian Renaissance progressions such as the Romanesca and the Passamezzo Antico to his modern style. This integration of historical 16th-century techniques into contemporary music underscores his technical mastery, originality, and innovative approach.

The quality and relevance of his work have opened the doors of prestigious cultural and academic institutions to him. He has been invited to perform and lecture at high-profile venues, including:
The National Institute of Fine Arts (INBAL) of Mexico, which is the country's most important cultural institution;
prestigious universities in the US such as the Butler School of Music at the University of Texas at Austin, which is recognized as one of the best public music schools in the United States, St. Francis University, and in Mexico, UNAM, UAM, and UAA; the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston; the National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico; and the public libraries of Austin, Boston, and Brooklyn, among many others.

His career has received media coverage in the press and on television in all three countries, with interviews in Mexican media outlets such as El Universal, Milenio, La Jornada, Reforma, Sin Embargo, Televisa Monterrey, and Canal Once; in US media outlets such as The Daily Texan, El Mundo Newspaper, and Univision; and in Chilean media outlets such as Diario Concepción, El Sur, Canal 9, and TVU de Chile.

Parra has demonstrated a prolific creative capacity, captured in four albums of original songs available on all digital platforms: La primavera es de los dos (2013); Con la dulzura de tu niñez (2018); Al calor de una canción (2022); and La canción que nos unió (2025).
